Sources & disclaimer

Triangle Builder Scorecard compiles public information only: builder websites, NewHomeSource TrustBuilder, GuildQuality, Avid Ratings, news outlets, court records, and public Reddit threads. Every data point links to its source. Blank fields mean we have not found a reliable source yet.

Ratings come from different platforms with different methods (some are builder-commissioned surveys) and should not be compared directly. Reddit comments are personal opinions. Prices shown are "from" prices as published on the date compiled and change frequently.

Where awards come from

Parade of Homes and MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) items come from the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County's official winners lists (PDFs on hbawake.com): Parade 2024 and 2026, MAME 2023 to 2026. Each item was re-checked against the PDF, and the category text is copied from it. We could not find official Raleigh-Wake Parade lists for 2021 to 2023 or 2025, MAME lists for 2021 to 2022, or the Durham-Orange-Chatham, Johnston, or Harnett/Lee Parade lists. Awards from those years and associations appear only when a builder's own site or press release reports them, and are labeled that way. Sustainability items come from EPA ENERGY STAR and U.S. DOE award pages, which are national, company-wide awards, plus clearly labeled company claims. TBJ Best Places to Work items come from Triangle Business Journal honoree pages or company announcements, because the full TBJ lists are paywalled. Other recognition covers awards outside the Triangle and is labeled that way.

These lists are incomplete. A builder showing "None found in public sources yet" may still have won awards we have not found. Items we could not confirm from a source we actually viewed are left out.
